Volvo Asked Us to Reinvent the Test Drive
Volvo makes experiences, not just cars. Before unveiling their new XC60, they want more than specs, boring brochures, and photos. They wanted a smartphone app that puts YOU behind the wheel. That’s where we came in.
Volvo doesn’t do fussy, so our app couldn’t either. It had to match the vibe, plus make booking a test drive easy. Boring forms? No way. We needed to create an interface that felt part of the car experience without feeling like a sales pitch.
We channeled classic Scandinavian design, letting the XC60 be the main lead. Our design was like a virtual showroom. We hid the boring details and turned features into little interactive surprises. It wasn't just about showing the car, it was letting you poke around: zoom in on those headlights, hear the engine purr…almost like a super-fancy video game.
The key here was no frustration. We streamlined the booking so it feels like part of the experience rather than being a chore. There was no 20-question form. We wanted the app to feel as advanced as the XC60 itself–not just an ad but a taste of the “new car” experience.
This was the “Wow” factor.
